JAPN 404: Advanced Japanese Presentation Com
Description:This course aims to develop an advanced level of academic communication to finalize research projects using appropriate research methods. Students analyze and synthesize their research findings to orally present and to write academic papers using APA style. This course is a companion course for WLC 400 (Major Capstone). Taught in Japanese. (Credit/No Credit Available) (Prereq: JAPN 300 or equivalent)
Reflective Narrative: The work in this class mainly focused on MLO 1 which was connected to improving our level of writing and language skills in the class . Also, this course helped me fulfill MLO 4 due to the research and technology components that was in our capstone projects This class helped me reach my level of writing in which we will use for the other class called WLC 400 which is an major capstone class. Mainly, in the class it helped me learn Japanese vocabulary and grammar in relation to helping out in our capstone project with the part of writing and speaking skills. For the most part, we learned how to write our graduation paper in Japanese and went through a Japanese workbook packet that we learned about how to write at a high level Japanese. In the packet we went through several chapters on grammer and also did some practice problems too. If you click here you can see my practice problems and if you click here you can see one of the chapter in our workbook packet. Some of the things in class that we had to present our capstones, I think this helped out because of the fact that when going through the final presentation, we had time to rehearse in front of the class and the next day was the capstone festival so it gave me and my group some practice before presenting our actual capstone project.
My goal for this class was being able to learn and be knowledgeable about Japanese vocabulary terms and grammar portion of the class as well as completing my paper, from this I could connect it from JAPN 300 class and WLC 400 classes. After taking this class, it gave me the confidence and knowledge boost that I really needed for my future job and career. From using these things that I have learned such as tools and skills in the class I would want to use it in my step of working in Japan.
