Taught in English. (Credit/No Credit Available)
Reflective Narrative: In this class I have learned so many Japanese pop culture. Some of the things that I learned in this class is Japanese cute culture, Japanese art, Akihabara, youkai, and maid cafe and other things. From that point I feel that this course fulfilled my MLO 2, cultural knowledge because we got to learn various kinds of pop culture about Japan. This class gave me an understanding about what Japanese culture is in a nut shell. One of the things that I have interesting from this course is that I learned Japanese cute culture. Previous times when I visited Japan, I hear many girls say that is cute to everything they see so I always wondered what actually cute means in Japanese culture. In my opinion, Japanese culture is kind of special and no body understands it unless they visited Japan or maybe if they live there for a certain amount of years. Regarding to the Japanese culture that I learned in this class, there was a group presentation that I did in which I learned about Architecture in Japan. In regarding to architecture in Japan, I never thought about architecture until I did the presentation on it. From doing this presentation it gave me a understand of how Japan's architecture is one of the greatest. If you click here you can see my powerpoint on architecture. So in the future, knowing manga, cinema and music and other things that I learned learned Japanese culture was important to going to Japan and possibly working there so this was a good information to know in general.
